CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


 

AGE GROUP CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the new annual adult Club Championship is to encourage growth and development of the multisport club system in Alberta and to encourage and promote friendly competition between clubs in a safe, fun and fair environment.

Prize money is awarded to assist clubs with their financial obligations and to better serve their athletes.

DIVISIONS

Clubs will be designated either Division 1 of Division 2 clubs for the purpose of the Club Championships.

Clubs with 20 or more members will be a Division 1 club and will compete only against other Division 1 clubs. Clubs with 19 or less members will be deemed a Division 2 club and will only compete against other Division 2 clubs.

EVENTS

The events counting towards point totals were the individual Sprint and Standard distance triathlons, Sprint and Standard duathlons, as well as triathlon and duathlon relays.

PRIZE MONEY

A $2,000 prize purse is provided by Triathlon Alberta.

Cash prizes are awarded to the top three clubs in each division as follows:

First: $500
Second: $300
Third: $200

ELIGIBILITY

Relays

In order for a relay result to count, all members of the relay must be members of the same club. The club name must be present in the team name in order for points to be allocated to the correct club.

Membership

Only members of Triathlon Alberta who are members of affiliated clubs will score points. It is the responsibility of the club and the member to ensure that memberships are up-to-date and affiliated with the correct club.

Multiple clubs

Members affiliated with more than one club will allocate points split evenly between affiliated clubs.

SCORING

Points will be awarded to participants based on their finishing position in their age group categories as indicated.

Elites

Elite/Pro results count towards point totals.


Relays

Relays will only count as one participant when tallying up point totals.

YOUTH & JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of the new annual Youth Club Championship is to encourage the growth and development of the youth club system in Alberta and to encourage and promote friendly competition between clubs in a sanctioned environment.

ELIGIBILITY

Clubs must be sanctioned with Triathlon Alberta and their members must also be annual members of Triathlon Alberta.

Athletes competing in the 12-13, 14-15, 16-19 age categories and are a member of a sanctioned club are eligible to score points for their club.

Only participants that are members of the sanctioned club at the time of the competition are eligible to score points for the Club Championship.

SCORING

The points totals will be awarded to participants based on their finishing position in either the 12-13, 14-15, 16-19 age categories.
